Guest Lens is an editorial photo series showcasing capsule shoots from some of our favorite photographers. Now in our sixth feature, we're excited to showcase our friend, photographer Ryan Kenny.
Rooted in Melbourne, Australia, Ryan Kenny's photos capture a delicate balance of surreal beauty, intimacy and wild livin.
While we've been experiencing a rained out winter and dreaming of sunny weather in Los Angeles, it only made sense to reach out to Ryan and have him take advantage of an Australian summer for our latest international-themed installment of Guest Lens.
"There's nothing better that shooting a project on the move. Inspiration comes easy if you've been staring at hay plains for two hours. These were taken between Wagga Wagga (About as ‘middle of nowhere’ as you can get here) and my mum's home in Adelaide; during the silly season. Adelaide is like a Los Angeles embryo. The weather identical, the hills framing the long grid-like streets that no one ever walks down. As Paul Kelly sung, ‘The streets are so wide, everybody's inside. Sitting in the same chairs they were sitting in last year.’" — Ryan Kenny
