Guest Lens is our editorial series showcasing capsule shoots from some of our favorite photographers.

Our latest installment takes us to Oakland, California, through the lens of 25 year old artist/photographer Azha Luckman.

We first turned onto Azha's work through our friends Oakland Surf Club and photographer Mancy Gant, and fell in love with her honest, raw aesthetic. In her own words, Azha’s work focuses on "escapism and self discovery."

I don't think too much about what I am doing before or in the moment. Overthinking is the key to making wack shit.

I love gorilla shooting and going places I’m not supposed to reminds me of being 19 and in pre-tech San Francisco where my obsession with documentation and photography began/developed.

I chose two womxn of color because I think it is important for young black and brown womxn to see themselves, we're so cool.

Chinasa is a healer worldly Oakland native. I love her look and personality that shows in every image.

Teresa is a model/photographer with a really unique look that I felt fit what I view as a 'Crap Eyewear' aesthetic.

After writing this all out I have thought of one word that sums up myself and my work: "Idiosyncratic"
